Reuse of information and intellectual property rights

The Law 37/2007, of 16 November, on the re-use of public sector information, as amended by Law 18/2015, of 9 July, regulates the reuse, by natural or legal persons, of public information available to the administrations and public sector agencies.

In accordance with this Regulation and under the creative commons license (attribution and share alike), the Council of Tenerife permits the reuse of data and content that is its property, except material data not protected by the Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996 of 12 April, which approves the revised text of the Law on Intellectual Property Rights, including activities such as copying, dissemination, modification, adaptation, extraction, reordering and combination of information, as well as the distribution only under a license identical to the license that governs the original work, with the following conditions:

  • Do not distort the meaning of the information
  • Always cite the source of information
  • Mention the date of the last update of information
  • Do not contradict the specific license that a work may have, which will be of preference, allowing for reuse under the conditions established in the same.
